This album contains photographs of MacMillan's 1923-24 expedition to Greenland. He sailed the schooner Bowdoin north in the summer of 1923 and froze her into Refuge Harbor (Qamarfit) for the winter. In the spring of 1924, he made two major sledge trips across Smith Sound to Ellesmere Island. One to install a tablet commemorating the Lady Franklin Bay Expedition (1881-1884), at the site of their starvation camp at Cape Sabine, and one to the interior to film muskox in the wild. He and his team sailed home in the summer of 1924.
