Biography
Burroughs Wellcome & Co. was established to import, and later manufacture, pharmaceuticals. In 1884 they trademarked the brand name "Tabloid" and under that name marketed a number of medicines and other products, ranging from bandages to photographic chemicals. In 1995 Burroughs Wellcome merged with Glaxo and the combined company merged again with SmithKline Beecham in 2000 to become GlaxoSmithKline.
