Biography

Mellie Dunham was a snowshoe maker from Norway, Maine, who supplied snowshoes to Peary's 1908-09 North Pole expedition. His snowshoes were sold widely, but he was more famous late in his life as a fiddler, winning a Maine fiddling championship and subsequently performing across the country.
