Silver end-cap of tooth is engraved "A.E. Howard / Hartford/Conn." - possiblly the owner? [There is an A.E. Howard listed in the 1896 Hartford City Directory as Secretary of the Treasury and a Director of the Aetna Electric Co.,356 Asylum St., Hartford; incorporated 1895: this seems a likely match].
