From MacMillan's journal: “I told Kah-dah [Kaali Peary] yesterday that I wanted a sculpin, to my surprise he said if I would loan him my kaiak he would catch me one. Sure enough! In a few minutes he came back with a good specimen. Caught it with hook and line at mouth of river. Have photographed it and have preserved in in alcohol.” (journal April 1916- 1917, p. 153)
