A small trading card, originally enclosed with Hassan brand cigarettes, depicts Matthew Henson in a fur parka against a background of ice and an orange sky. The back describes Henson's accomplishments. This card is one of a series of explorer cards, and Henson was the only African-American in the series. The artist , Albert Operti, had been in Greenland with Peary and Henson in the 1890s.
