Peary, Henson, Ootah, Sigloo, Engingwah and Ooqueah arrived in the vicinity of the Pole on April 6, 1909. They took initial sextant readings to confirm their location. They rested, and then made a number of criss-cross trips to ensure they were as near the Pole as possible. They raised flags, took photographs, and departed on the afternoon of April 7 for the trip to the ship.
