One of a group of objects that came from the house once occupied by Charles Sewall in Wiscasset. at the time objects were found, Emaline Marston owned the house and asked donor to clear out attic. She identified materials as coming from Sewall.
Charles Sewall (1875-1956) sailed as botanist aboard the schooner Bowdoin on 1926 trip north under the auspices of the Field Museum. He was a longtime friend of Donald MacMillan and was the father of Mary Sewall Metcalf, who married Rowe Metcalf, owner of Sachem III, and who also went north.
