According to William Rood, the man on the far right is his grandfather Henry E. Rood, a journalist and friend of the Peary family. The boy is King Rood, Henry's oldest son (William's uncle). The unidentified man in uniform may be the captain of the boat Rood chartered to go to Battle Harbour.
