Mercury thermometer mounted into aluminum frame with scale, and tied into a piece of split bamboo with copper wire. Measures 120 degrees Fahrenheit down to minus 20 degrees. Bamboo case appears to be a heavily-used field replacement. #8996 Full description and condition in notebook
